About us
We live on 2 1/2 acres in rural Kaufman County, just East of Dallas, Texas. We are blessed to have two grown sons, 2 lovely daughter-in-laws and 6 wonderful grandchildren. We obtained our first Dachshund, Samson, a smooth black and tan male in 1985 after the death of our beloved Doberman, Rusty. Wow, a big dog in a small package! Our love of the breed began. We soon realized that Samson needed a companion while we were at work in Dallas so we obtained Delilah, a longhair red, in 1987.
We love going to garage sales and flea markets and are lucky to live close to 1st Monday Trades Day in Canton, Texas. Our love of Dachshunds started a quest for everything Dachshund that we could find and thus began our extensive Dachshund collection which over time became a quest for all kinds and breeds of dog collectibles. We now have an antique/collectible business called DOG DAZE. We buy and sell dog collectibles, neon signs, furniture and hardware among other things of interest. We have booths at a great antique mall in Forney, Texas called Memories Galore Antiques. If you love antiques and collectibles please follow the link to their site and visit the mall. You won't be disappointed. DOG DAZE also has booths at 1st Monday Trades Day in Canton, Texas. If you're down there for the show please come by and see us on Row 52 at Row 100 on the original 1st Monday grounds. However, please do not expect to see our Dachshunds at 1st Monday. We would be happy for you to make an appointment and visit us and our dogs at our home.
